What's New with Mahon Door Corporation!
Fire Warden Supreme
- Today's most advanced technology for motor operated fire doors that combines the benefits of Fail-Safe releasing, controlled decent, automatic reset and easy testing without reliance on AC or DC power. This self-closing release system uses a centrifugal governor to keep closing speeds between 6 and 9 inches per second upon activation by fuse link, alarm signal or loss of power. After closure is made and the alarm signal is cleared or power is restored, the door will automatically reset independently. A sensor edge will continue to provide obstruction detection, reverse functionality and cycling during the self-closing mode, pending the availability of power. This is made possible through planetary gearing which enables the motor to be backwind rather than disconnecting from the door as most conventional fire doors do. The system can be easily tested by interrupting the power to the operator or by using a floor level test panel that releases the holding brake. An optional 10 second delay feature is also available to prevent false closures due to momentary loss of power. Fire doors equipped with Fire Warden Supreme may be connected in a series to trigger activation of all doors within that series to close upon the melting of a single fuse link. The system is ideally suited for classic fire door applications where limited head and side room are desired, however, cumbersome manual resetting is to be avoided. Additionally, the Fire Warden Supreme systems permits easy and frequent testing without any need for tools, ladders, or specially trained personnel. Doors equipped with the Fire Warden Supreme will provide standard motorized service through a push button control station during non-emergency periods, but stands ready to deploy through emergency mode, full time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Fire Warden Supreme is available on Mahon fire doors and fire shutters and is both UL and FM approved.
